Immigration exams

Our Panel physician, Dr. David Gerring & team perform immigration medical exams using eMedical, for Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for the following categories:

  • Permanent residency application

  • New refugees to Canada

  • Family sponsorship

  • Work visa

  • Visitor visa

  • Student visa

Instructions

Identification documents accepted:

  • Original Passport (preferred document)

  • National Identification Card

  • Driver’s Licence

  • Refugee Protection Claimant Document, Refugee Travel Document

  • Copy of Passport Certified by a Canadian Visa Office

  • Red Cross Travel Document, UN Laissez-passer

Please note: the document must be original and valid

Bring the following to your appointment:

  • Your valid identification document

  • Any forms or letters received from  the IRCC

  • All your prescription medications

  • Medical reports relevant to significant medical conditions such as cancers or significant hospitalizations

  • Eye glasses or contacts

Appointment

  • You will be asked for your Identity Document, any documents from IRCC.

  • You will complete a medical history questionnaire and sign a declaration from IRCC.

  • We will check your height, weight, blood pressure, test your vision, obtain a urine sample, and take your digital photo. (You are not required to bring photos)

  • Payment ($175 Adult) for the exam will be collected the day of your visit (cash, debit, Visa, Mastercard, e-transfer accepted). Special rate for children and families available.

  • You will proceed to the laboratory to complete your: Chest X-ray (required after age 11), blood tests for HIV, Syphilis, and kidney function (required after age 15) Fee for blood tests are est. $13-$25 unless specialized testing are required. Fee for x-ray is est. $60

After your exam

Your test results will be automatically sent back to our panel physician and uploaded to eMedical. We will contact you before uploading your file to eMedical if your results require a follow-up

 

The IRCC will make the final decision regarding your immigration medical exam. If there is an issue with your medical exam, the visa office will contact you in writing.
